General Info The Young Atom Opticians Conference is a special meeting organized by and for young researchers within the framework of the European Atom Optics research activities. The conference, organized in a series of talks and a poster session, offers to everyone the possibility to illustrate their own research work in an informal environment. The spirit of the conference is to encourage dialogue among the participants. The YAO 2002 conference will be held in Volterra (Pisa, Italy) a city located in the Alta Val di Cecina, in the centre of Tuscany (see map), from April 13th to April 18th, 2002. The conference site will be the Santa Maria Maddalena Conference Centre, a remarkably equipped centre, available for the YAO 2002 by courtesy of the Cassa di Risparmio di Volterra. Up to 50 applicants will be accepted to attend the conference. Participants will be accomodated in double rooms, in the Albergo Nazionale, located in the centre of Volterra, close to the conference location. The conference fee is 350 Euros and it includes full board accomodation, social events and proceedings. A large number of grants (covering the conference fee) is available, so please ask for it in the application form The travel expenses of the participants can be partially refunded, subjected to availability of fundings. If you need a financial support for travel expenses, please state it in the application form.
